Default LED dome light

So I just changed the interior dome lights to LEDs which I bought from ebay. It's not really much brighter than the stock halogen bulbs, but I really dig the colour of the light (pure white). HOWEVER, something really annoying is that two of the lights have to be on for the light to be at full brightness.

Basically what I mean is, if I'm driving and I just press one of the lights to go on, it comes on very very dim, but if I turn on the other light next to it, or I turn on the rear passenger dome light then they both come on at full brightness. Why the heck would this be happening? Why can't I just have one light on at full brightness? Kind of a weird thing so hoping someone can help me out here...

These are the LEDs I bought: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=160228981676

I changed mine too but there is no such problem.

I got them from tunerdomes

I bought the DOME DE3175 31mm 1Watt which is really bright similar to the original.

Just a little update, I found it only dims like that when the car is off. If the car is on then it works fine regardless if I only have 1 light on. But when the car is turned off and I turn only 1 light on it's super dim until I turn another light on. Are they just crappy quality LEDs?

I haven't noticed that when I changed my interior bulbs to LED. I'll check out mine, and let you know.

ok that gave me the info I needed, me tinks they have it on a regulator and their minimum input requirement is too high.

if you were to check the voltagebythe lights while car is on it can be around "13.5" when the car is off the input voltagedrops down to "11" and the LEDs need a minimum of "12" to run properly.

just poor design. etc.

I've been doing some research and have heard some really good things about these lights: http://www.oznium.com/led-dome

I might replace the ones I bought from ebay with some of the 'thin flexible 5mm' ones from oznium.
