locking wheel nut replacement
Hi all. Can anyone advise on getting a replacement locking wheel nut key as i have lost it. I have a 2008 diamond and it has the standard 5or6 poke alloys u get on an elegance or diamond model. I was going to get one from a scrap yard and have since been told by 2 dealers that every set of wheels have an unique alloy nut locking key pattern and must be ordered through them. Is this true? The locking nut pattern is a star like pentagon shape and it looks the same for most outlanders. Please advise thanks

There are a limited number of them. For some reason 30 comes to mind. The bumps are slightly different from set to set. I believe most mechanics can get them off with out the key however it often destroys the nut or the socket involved. The dealer can order specific ones I think. Most dealers have a master set for this problem or for people leaving them home when bringing their vehicle for service. I would get all 4 locking nuts removed, preferably by the dealer, and then purchase a new set either from a dealer if you must have oem or just get another companies.

I got lost mine but I ordered new one by key number which was on lock nut papers. I have papers from dealership. You call NY shop which sells those nuts to Mitsubishi and they send replacement one for $19. Free shipping. Came in 3 days.
