Low MPG - 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander LS 2D

I am having some problems with low fuel mileage on my Outlander. I have done the following within the last three months;

Changed fuel filter
Changed air filter
New Bosch Iridium Plugs
Seafoam through vacuum line
New front o2 Sensor
Transmission flush
Cleaned EGR valve
Cleaned intake manifold

The following things have been checked as to working;

Battery
Wires/Coils
Fuel Pump

I am not sure what there is left to do. I am getting around 12 MPG. All check engine code issues have been resolved and there is now no light. A couple of observations are an exhaust smell when parked after opening doors, a slight sputter coming from the exhaust, gradual loss of coolant and occasionally the car wants to stall after starting for the first time in the morning. At times when I let off the gas it seems that the car is slowing down sooner than it should (transmission). I am changing the P/S pump soon as it is whing and the steering is hard.

I have cleaned the injectors using a cleaner in the tank plus removing them and running carb cleaner through them. My next thought is to use half a can of Seafoam in the fuel tank and half a can in the oil and then change it.

Thank you for your input.

Hello pss2006, I'm new on this Mitsubishi forum, so I just saw your post. The gradual loss of coolant and the occasional stall in the morning sounds like a leaking head gasket. Has the Outlander overheated before? Also, how many miles/km are on the odometer?

*** I would definitely perform a compression a piston check on all four (4) cylinders.

*** Autozone or Advance Auto parts rents the engine compression tool.
