MAP UPDATES GREECE
To those interested, local Mitsu exclusive dealer (you all know his brand name...) is offering an update of the current map for Greece which increases coverage (as they say...) from 35% to 42%. It includes the cities of the Thessaloniki, Larisa, Volos, Patra & perhaps a few other. The relative CD needs to be ordered & costs circa €200......!!!!!!!!.......They are surely looking for suckers.... They also say in the future, perhaps there will be more detailed free update issued by Mitsu Co. its self but unspecified when.... Thats all falks, you still have to carry your PNA to navigate out of Athens greater area
Dimitri, unfortunately Navtek the company that produced the maps used in Mitsu has only 55% coverage of Greece (you can check it's site...) so the 42% is a map at about Q1 2008.. One shouldn't buy it...as it will be replaced soon with the new Q4 2008 maps....We willhave to waituntil Navtek gets a 70-80% of Greeceand then update...
Thanks Leonidas, even if Navtek updates to Q4/2008 it is still the question whether Mitsu Co. will produce the relative CD update (free or not), for as Navteq explicitly states we have to contact Mitsu to update our map software, we cannot use it directly from Navteq. Commonly "englovismenoi".......
