Hi all,

I don't know why every time I touch my Outlander door it zaps me. Sometimes it zaps me badly! I'm not the only one . . . my wife too! [:@]She scares to death every time she jumps in and out of Outlander. We have no problem with the old one - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker

Has anyone the same? How do I avoid it?

You might want to try some anti-static spray on your seats.

 

Before you move to get out of the car, touch the outer door panel (the metal part and assuming that you've already opened the door), then get out while holding the metal door panel. This will allow the static to flow through your arm into the metal panel and ground out. This happens to me all the time too. It doesn't matter what vehicle I'm in. During the winter, it gets worse, not too bad during the summer though.
