I´m curious why do they return to the old model grille with some chrome accent?

Yes it looks like the 2009 model but now with some chrome accents for 2011,

I think now looks more elegant and beautiful, what do you think?

I own a 2007 XLS Outlander with similar grille, will be a good idea to paint my grille or give it a chrome treatment just like the new 2011 japanese model?

Actually a couple of Asian markets never switched the Outlanders front end to that Evo-style grille that we have here in USA since 2010. In my opinion the 2007-2009 front end just flows with the entire body a lot better than the new design. I like the Lancer nose on Lancer and Outlander Sport as entire cars were designed from scratch with that front end in mind. On the Outlander it looks like a hack job. I personally like the 2009 grille design for Outlander XLS (US version). Although that new 2011 Japanese Outlander also looks good.
