Oil Change
I'd imagine the 3750 would be for conventional as well. If I were to stick to the 3750 interval, I don't think I'd use synthetic...but I'm really cheap. I would at least use a good name brand...no "house" brand stuff.
Since the other intervals are programmed in there, there must be reasons. Maybe the stealership would know more.

Hi All. As a new (second hand) MYO8 Outlander owner these forums are great. Here in Australia, the designated service interval is 15,000kms (approx 9,300miles)/12 months. Most of our driving is as mum's taxi. I wonder whether we should at least be changing oil and filter at approx the 7,500km mark and then put it in at the dealer for the 15,000km service as this is a requirement to keep the premium roadside assist package for the life of the warranty (5yrs)?
The maintenance reminder says 4700 miles. And the manual says 7500 miles but I'm sure that that's the max and that they are talking about synthetic oil. My neighbor whos a mechanic says it can go to 5k miles but I think that's a bit risky. The maintenance reminder on the dash says 4700 miles.
I think I'll change it at 4,500 miles for the following reasons:
I mostly drive the speed limit. I drive in the city alot in stop and go traffic but not everyday. I take my other car to work. This does not really tax the engine that much. However, I do push the gas hard when I need to pass cars on the highway although oil change price I've never red-lined it (but came close a few times). I'm thinking that somebody that red-lines their car often needs more oil changes.
