Outlander ignition locked
Hello,
I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport ES. Yesterday I drove this car and backed it into the garage. Today, None of the ignition keys will turn in the ignition. The rest of the story is that when I backed into the garage yesterday I jacked up the front of the car to inspect for a very sloppy steering issue. I wiggled and jiggled the wheels, tie rods, ball joints etc.. I Then lowered the vehicle back to the floor and didn't restart it.
Today none of the ignition keys will turn in the ignition. The steering wheel does not lock, I can turn the wheel all the way from one side to the other with the keys out of the ignition. I turned the wheel all the way side to side while holding pressure on the key. The vehicle is in park. I have rocked the vehicle front to back. I have jacked the vehicle up and manually straightened the wheels and rotated both front wheels. I have held the brake on.
Has anyone seen this problem in the past? And can you share the fix?
Thanks

Update, I was able to get the ignition unlocked. Evidently, It was just happenstance that the vehicle was parked with no problem and the next day the key wouldn't turn? The key lock had one tumbler that wouldn't drop but the only way to get the lock set out is to depress a small pin under the lock set. The key has to be in the ignition to depress the pin, you can't remove the lock set with a puller.
The problem was that the key has to be able to get turned to the acc position which gives you something to pull on. The key in the ignition allows you to depress the lock pin but there is no room left to pull the lock set out.
I had sprayed the lock set with blaster a day before, I had to resort to tapping on the end of the key with a rubber mallet for a good long time until the key eventually flipped to the acc position and I was able to remove the lock set. You really can't start the car with a screwdriver once the lock set is pulled because everything in the lock set barrel is plastic so the lock set would never go back in.
I cleaned the lock set and lubed and put it back into the car, it has been tested for a few days. I don't plan to replace the lock set with new because they are very expensive. And the only way you could get the lock set out of a junkyard car is with the keys which are normally missing. I think in both cases the new keys would need to be programmed to the vehicle?
The steering wheel lock still does not work. The lock bar should drop down when the key is removed and must be stuck in the up position which doesn't bother me much.
