There have been few glitches with the 2007 Outlander (first year release so it is kind of expected) but overall the current Lancer/Outlander line is pretty much very reliable. You can search for Consumer Reports or JD Power rankings (forgot which one was it) but Outlander actually was top 3 in long term reliability in the CUV class. Reality is that as harsh as it may sound, Mitsubishi is USA is divided in to two categories, Normal, IL made and the Japanese made, the Japanese made Mitsus are really no worse than their Toyota/Honda counterparts. I have my Outlander for over a year and really I have no quality complaints from it, one thing that happened to me was the park release clicking sound came after 6 months but apparently most cars do that anyway.

I subscribe to Consumer Reports and they rank Outlander's reliability as much better than average. The Outlander is also rated very highly for safety with a 5 star crash rating.

I have an 09 Outlander and have some issues with it, hood dents, paint being sandblasted off lower doors and 1/4 panels (Mitsu will not cover under warranty), 22,000 kms and the front tires are worn out, to much road noise, door windows click and rattle, mostly just little stuff that drives me crazy. Have had it to the dealer to get windows tightened and all they did was fill my doors with lube to try to get rid of noise. Had lube running out the bottoms of my doors and down over lower cladding for a couple days, made quite a mess. Not sure what these vehicles will be like in 4-5 years, hoping not to have any major issues.

Just my 2 cents
Chris

worst part failure we've had so far was a rear wheel sensor that went out at 50k miles. Sent the powertrain into a limp home mode, but was warrantied out. We have the hood dimples too...but they aren't too bad.

Edit: taking it in on the 7th to get the hood dimples and wheel liner looked at to get warranty fixed.

'07 with 24k miles, nothing major other then some minor build quality problems (paint, rattling, road noise etc...). My friend has '03 with almost 100k and has no major issues either.

I've got an 08 XLS V6. Bought with 3 miles on it now has 63000 and it's been awesome. Oil, tires and gas is all I've done to it and it's just now ready for some new brakes.

The only thing I've had to take it in for was a slight latch adjustment on the 3rd row seat..it would pop up when I'd hit a bump.

So I'm extremely pleased with the reliablilty
