Default Outlander Mods?

I just bought my XLS Outlander with the 3.0L three weeks ago and love it. I tow a camping trailer and would like a little more power. The only thing I can find so far, that I trust, is a K&N air filter.
I have the 8 year/ 200,000 km pumper to bumper diamond care warranty and I don't want to risk voiding it.
Any suggestions?

Did you buy it new? Might not be a good idea to tow with your Outlander if it's been in service for 3 weeks only. It still needs to be loosened up a little bit.

Bender here in the US there is a federal law (Magnuson-Moss) that prohibits car manufacturers from voiding your warranty just because you installed an aftermarket part on it. To void your warranty they first have to prove that the part did in fact cause damage to your vehicle. You may want to check to see if there is a similiar law in Canada.

I contacted Transport Canada, Consumer Affairs Canada, and Access Nove Scotia. None of them knew of any law protecting consumers with respect to cars. I couldn't believe that car purchases aren't covered under one of those three agencies.

I will contact my MLA and MP and see if they can do anything.

When I bought mine, they told me there were no options for extended warranty...the 5 yr, 100,000km was the best

The warranty just became available on June 1st of this year. It is only available in Canada as far as I know. Any person that has a Mitsu that is less than 3 years or 60,000 km of age can still buy the warranty.
I am the sales manager at my dealership so I know it's legit. It is a true factory warranty. I would never buy an aftermarket warranty.

The factory warranty that comes with the car is 5 year/100,000 km New Vehicle Limited, 10 year/160,000 km power-train and 5 year unlimited roadside. That is the best factory warranty available in Canada and it is standard on all naturally aspirated Mitsu's. The warranty I purchased extends the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and the Roadside to 8 year/200,000 km. You could get 10 year/200,000 km buy I drive 25,000 km per year so 8 years is as far as I would go. The warranty cost me about $3,000.00 but I don't have a thing to worry about for 8 years. I think it's a awesome plan.
