P or LT tires
I'm having a hard time finding non OEM tires in the 215 70 r16 in the H speed rating. Everyone is recommending dropping to T tires or moving to LT tires that do not have speed ratings. I'm in Manitoba so i'll be driving on snow and ice 1/3 the year.
Will i notice a difference with LT tires.

T rating is for 118 mph / 190 km/h
H rating is for 130 mph / 210 km/h
We are picking up some Firestone Destination LE tires in about a week. Got 41k miles out of the OEM Yokos. My 2nd choice was going to be some BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A. Both tires had really good ratings at tirerack.com

If you are looking at different sizes, 235/65-16 would be closer to stock. with 225, your speedometer will have to show 60.7 if you want to go 60. with 235, your speedometer will have to show 59.6 to actually go 60. speeds in miles per hour.
I debated the alternate sizes but ended up staying stock. However, if you do a lot of snow driving, the wider tire may be of interest.

One of the big differences between LT and P tires is LT tires have stiffer sidewalls which in turn increases the load rating on them. They are designed for trucks and truck based SUV's where you will be hauling heavy loads on a regular basis. The difference you most likely will notice with LT tires is a "stiffer" ride.

Found some...
I bit the bullet and bought the Nokian WRG2 SUVs, My road was all ICE and I knew this would be a good test for the new tires because I could easily compare new / old. But I was at the Tire shop for 3 hours and all the ICE melted. Everyone was getting new Tires, First snow of the season.

My recommendation-
Would be the Nokian WRG2. It has the H speed rating and also the snowflake symbol for approval as a winter tire. Also has a treadwear warranty of 80 000kms.
