Plastic is a good material, and paint it silver to get that aluminum/chrome look. It's plastic for a very good reason. For safety reasons that is. Mitsu could have made it aluminum, then no need for painting, but that would lower their safety ratings then.
lol, cuz you know, the first person to get impaled on a metal grill item... is gonna be mighttttyyy pissed off.

Im going to be super pissed now if I'm the one that gets hit by it.
