Default Plug help

Can someone please advise on how to get to the back 3 plugs on a 2007 Outlander? I notice the front three plugs are a piece of cake as they are right up front under the cover, but how do you get to the back three ? It appears they are under the entire intake/top manifold. Help ?! Getting near 60K miles...

Check out the Sticky Post "Workshop/User Manual ... ". I think there is a megadownload link from ccernst around page 6 in the thread.

Check out 15-7 in the manual for the Removal and Installation of the Intake Manifold Plenum. Basically the air intake plumbing is covering the rear plugs on the top of the engine so you have to remove all that to access the rear plugs.

The procedure shows 35 steps but you probably don't have to remove it completely from the engine - just enough to access the plugs. Looks like there are some consumables like gaskets, o-rings, etc.

I've yet to do it myself so I can't give any advice.

The iridium OEM plugs on the V6s are rated to 100 or 105k miles, so do the plugs when you do the timing belt. Doesn't seem necessary to replace them at 60k.

Be Alert .. some Mitsubishi dealers does not use iridium OEM spark plugs. they use PLATINUIM Spark plug .. is this cheating or just dishonest? If the plug changed from iridium OEM plugs to PLATINUIM non-OEM Spark plugs ... is there will an issue?

where did you hear this? looking at a bunch of the aftermarket parts stores...all I find are irridium plugs. Denso does not list a part number for platinums.
