Default Questions for Rockford Fosgate sys owners

Does the Rockford Fosgate system on the non-Nav XLS use the same 6-disc head unit as the base model, but add amps and speakers to really crank things up?

If so, does anyone have any idea where the amplifiers are located?

Many thanks... and that picture is great info too! So after seeing this, I checked my base XLS, and there are a number of wiring harnesses under the passenger seat where the amp would be. I'd expect the main wiring harnesses on the car are probably the same regardless of options - so this leads me to believe I can probably tap in line level outputs from one of those harnesses - at worst case, speaker level outs.

Can you see the wiring harness plugged into the amp it - how big/what color? I see a couple wiring harnesses under the seat (two 8-pin ones - black and red plastic), and some more under the carpet I can't see clearly yet. There are two obvious connectors there for passenger/airbag sensor and seat belt sensor. I also fished around with my hand through the slit in the carpet, and found a 4-pin w/3 wires used - just floating around, not connected to anything. Maybe the power and remote turn-on for the fosgate amp. I'll try to look around at the other connectors under the carpet tomorrow.

I Hope they help!
Yeah, they are a big help! It looks most of those connectors are all standard, and serve some other function, since mine look exactly the same ( wonder what that 4" flat square plastic thing with the two black and red connectors is). Anyway, it looks like the key players are the two connectors at the bottom of this pic, actually plugged into the amp.

I can kind of make out the colors and size, so I think I have a lot to look for. This is a great start. I was out this afternoon tracing speaker wires from the head unit to the doors. It's easy enough, but I'll have to cut and splice into that main head unit connector. If I could just plug into a connector that's already under the passenger seat wired for all this, it would be SOOOO much easier and cleaner.

Thanks again.
