07 Outlander Brakes

I am looking at doing my first Mitsubishi brake job on my Outlander, is there anything special I need to know when it comes to the rears having to do w/the rotors, parking brake etc? I found a schematic of the rear disc and parking brake and it looks like it has allot of internal parts. Do those rear rotors come off w/out releasing the parking brake shoes some? Thanks for any feedback or schematics, Jim

There is absolutely nothing special with this vehicle's brakes. The rear rotors has a bit of an extra large top hat that provides the braking surface for the e-brake. Think of the old covered wagon brakes...but applying that pressure to the inside surface of the "hat".

Once the caliper is off, the rotor will slide right off just like the fronts.

This is interesting. This issue also happened to me on my 07 Outander XLS. The rears wore earlier than the fronts. I replaced all myself but noticed that the fronts had a bit more life left than the rears. This was at about 30000k. I noticed lately that the rears are again starting to grind a bit from the rear after sitting. Checking the brake pads, I noted that the pads seem to have worn more again. Must be an issue with the system bc I installed quality parts.
