Remote Keyless Battery
Hi all.
My remote keyless fob in my 2010 Outlander VRX is reporting back that the battery is low.
On the display in the car it comes up with "Key Battery Low"
The manual states you have to take the fob to your local dealer to have the battery replaced which is probably a bit far fetched.
But before I do go and change the battery, can anyone advise if replacing the battery will cause the proximity remote to lose any memory settings i.e. will the remote need to be re-paired back to the vehicle.
Also if anyone knows, what type of battery does the remote use. If its a CR2032 that would be great as I have plenty of them on hand for when I replace pc batteries..

It's easy to DIY. Straightforward replacement of battery CR2032. No need for dealer. No need to reprogram as well will work as before. Done it twice already (have the 2007 Aussie vrx). The remote usually has a gap on the side that you pry with a small flat head screw driver to open. Just be easy so as not to break the case.
