I am surprised the audio shop will not help you, usually they love to do it, have some dynamat or equivalent put inside the doors that will cut back the cabin noise, then probably under the factory floor carpet you can put some.

The SUV tires are loud, they get louder when you put more miles in it too.

It's really not hard to yank the interior out of modern cars. I would just spend my Saturday yanking it apart and dynamating the entire damn thing if it bothered me that badly.

I do indeed, but I'm telling you most of the road noise can be solved with better tires.

Your only other option is dynamat.

Hey karltec I have applied my own devised solution to the road noise problem and have cut the noise down considerably. If you are interested in my solution you can PM me and I will let you know what I did and how it turned out. ralphmorgan@msn.com

Sebba,
I've driven in TX (Decatur area) on the OEM Geolanders, Firestone Alenza, and now Firestone Ecopia tires. they have some horrendously noisy roads...something like crushed cobblestone. I don't know how you can quiet that crap down...

I have solved the problem of road noise. But before I tell you what I did I want everyone to guess and see who can solve the mystery. The first hint is, "It was expensive" I will keep giving hints every few days and if no one get it then I will expose what I did. Let's play.

new suspension bushings, dynamat, spray-in sound deadening liner, big arsed stereo system (so you can't hear the road), massive fan props to levitate vehicle off the road (a la OV-22), got into an accident and totaled the vehicle.
