Default Running Boards

Lots of folks have complained about damaged paint on the lower rockers. Anyone install running boards as a possible solution to this problem. Curious to know if it is a simple DIYer install or not. Also curious to know how it looks and if they would reduce ground clearance

I didn't install running boards because it's expensive and it would just add weight and lower my mileage. I opted for the mud flaps instead. I think the flaps do a better job. See here: http://outlander.freeforums.org/mz38...ation-t40.html

Yea good point its amazing what little bit of weight can do to gas mileage, I even took my third row seat out cause its useless, I love my mud flaps, I thought bout the running boards to but its suv not a truck, only time they would come in handy is when washing the roof.

I have the factory mudflaps installed and I still found rock chips on the bottom of the doors. The nerf bar does an excellent job of minimizing the chips:

hi, lilaznviper, you get that bars from http://www.autoeq.ca/mitsubishi/outl..._3sidebar.html

made by uguard, i got them too, look nice from that angle, but if you look from the side of the car, they don't look nice because the mounting bracket is too low

installation is easy, the only hard part is to drill a hole on each side, bars came with clear instruction with pictures

I start with the factory mudflap, and and up with a nice sand blast,
so to fix that install the Sidestep, a little better, but to finish the job,
i install some CANADIAN tire Mudflap over the FActory mudflap, only at the front, and do the job.
stop 90 % of all the debris,
with only the factory one, like 30 %, lol, nice job mistu, nice job
