Default For Sale: OEM Rack for GT

This is a brand new item from Mitsubishi. If you have a 2010 Outlander GT which doesn't come with roof rails, but does have the new "roof rack treatement", this rack is for you.

I was expecting this to be rails because I ordered it without a description or pictures, the dealer had never seen it either. So, I bought a Thule Rapid Crossroad kit... but since this is a podium type rack, I'd rather just exchange my Thule foot pack for the Traverse and sell the OEM rack.

Paid $459, willing to sell for $300 to at least recoup some of the cost (shipping extra). Bars are Thule square bar style, comes with locks and two keys.

I live in the greater Seattle area, if you do too, no shipping, I'll drop them off.

I'm probably getting ready to buy a 2010 Outlander GT and it does have the roof rack treatment. Can you post a picture and/or a part number? I'm pretty sure I'm interested. What is the alternative to the factory system. I already have cross bars (on my 2007 Outlander) but for some stupid reason they took the rails off of the GT. Thanks.

The only other option is to use Thule's site for fitment and get the 480/480R foot pack and bars. This is the clamp on style and you get about the same bar spread.

Are you saying we can't get the OEM rails on the GT? I bought a 2010 GT, Dealer ordered the "Rails" I went to have them installed and this ugly roof rack was on there. They took it off and are now getting the rails. Can I expect the phone call "Sorry cant be done"?
Please say it aint so!!!!
Love my Outlander BTW

So my dealer called this morning. Funny the OEM roof rails are not an option for the GT. WTF? They had worked the rack into my deal so they said they would make it happen. Anyway, our parts guy had to order 14 individual pieces for the rack. They told me it is in and they will put it on next Wednesday. I will let you know how that works out.

hopefully it works out for you... it seems that the GT has the rear most mounting point, but it's not drilled or tapped. Hopefully it will work. But I actually like the sleek roof, so a removable rack works great.

My dealer claims they will have to remove the headliner and drill holes to make the OEM rack work. I'm thinking the Thule 480 Traverse is the way to go to avoid all of this drama. $300 and done...
