Steering 09 outlander ( out of whack )
I took it out for a drive on the weekend and tried to find some pretty straight street with out any snow on it. At times it's super straight. However at times I get a pull to the left and to the right. No ruts on the street.
The only reason why this sucks is I do quite a bit of highway driving. I find that I have to consistent hold the wheel down on either side while driving on the highway ( I know this sounds odd ). Just imagine holding your while 1 / 2 degrees off for two hours while on the highway.

I don't actually see a problem from your description unless it always goes in one direction when you let go of the steering wheel. I have a sports sedan which does this 10x more than the Outlander...you literally have to always have a firm grip on the wheel so that it doesn't run away from you depending on the road surface. It is totally normal, and you get used to it.
If you want it to stay straight, you basically need a car that has less precise/numb steering wheel. Shouldn't have bought an Outlander but something with a ridiculously strong power steering motor.
