You will need several parts:

7801A360 Heater blend door kit $64.90
7801A100 Heater air blend link and lever kit $12.97
MF453032 Screws (2 required) $0.35 each
MR398288 Blower motor housing filter $45.47

Plus if the **** broke you will need the whole control head. $200.00+ Differs per model. It will take all day to do because you must pull the dash.

thats a superceded bulletin.

chances are great that they will need nothing more than the updated linkage, at a cost of 13 bucks. at the very least its worth a try, and takes all of 10 minutes to install.

I am having the same problem. When I turn the temp dial to warm, the linkage cable bends and I get no hot air. I figure I will need to replace it and have seen the parts numbers that were shown on this forum, but I can't for the life of me find where I can buy these parts. Can you please help? Thanks.

you will need to go to the parts counter at your local mitsubishi dealership- give them the numbers posted or the description of the part and they will get it for you.

Default 2004 Outlander

I have a 2004 Outlander, If I take it to the dealer, do they have to fix this for me free of charge? I purchased the car used last year from a Mitsubishi dealer.

No, you can expect $96 for them just to look at it, then another $96/hr in labor. That's if they don't try to force you to replace the unit, and then they hand you all the other **** they want to do to the car, services they want to sell you, and scare you into bull**** maintenance procedures.

Do it yourself, I could teach an orangutan to follow those instructions.

LMAO!!! I know, they don't stop the crap either!!!! I think my issue is different though, I can't get the blend to send neither cold nor hot air to the feet. It will switch to everything else except the feet.

Would like to fix this before the winter comes in. Any ideas and detailed instructions on how to do this. It souds like a similar repair as you guys have described here.
