Tire Question

Long time browser, first time poster! I am about to replace the tires on my 08 Outlander LS w/ OEM (215.70.R16) currently on. I really want to get Hankook Optimo H727 Blackwall based on Consumer Reports and tread life warranty (I drive 30,000/year so it is very important). They do not have H727 in 215.70.R16, but TireRack is assuring me that the 235.65.R16 will fit just fine. Any thoughts or comments on this? I'd hate to order them, install, and run into a problem?

Thanks in advance! :)

Ryan

The link below is from Discount tire's website and shows the 235.65.R16 should fit your LS fine. Both Tirerack and Discount tire know their stuff when it comes to tires so I would say you are fine.

If for some reason the link doesn't work, just go to www.tire.com (Discount's website) and enter the make/model of your Outlander to show all sizes that work with your vehicle.

The overall diameter is almost the identical, so there will be no speedo or fittment issues. Plus the extra width of the tire will probably look better on the outtie than the stock 215's.

From TireRack's site, you should also consider the Yokohama Avid Touring at $90 each, made in the US or Japan, or the Firestone Destination LE at $102 each, made in Canada. It's just me, but I try to stay away from tires made in China or Korea, which is where the Kumhos are made.
