Tire/rim size

Hey all, had to come up with a new login, it's been so long since I posted I think my profile was deleted.
Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade the wheels and tires on my '07 ES. I was thinking 17x7 rims shod with 235/65 Yokohama's (the Avids I think). Any suggestions/ideas? I would like to keep my budget for everything under 1000.oo
Also, I will be working a mod to enable the Outlander to carry a full size spare (one of my old 16" tire/rim that will be replaced). I know you might see more of the tire but I trust a regular tire rather than the temp spare.

What rims do you currently have? The orginal 16's right? Those should be 215-70-16.
And now you want to switch to 17`s?

From 215-70-16 to 17s, the best size is 215-65-17 with .54% difference.

Also, the Yoko Avid are good tires. I read a lot of review and some say good, some say bad. But for the price, its better than a lot. It is as good compare to some of the Michelin, but lower price. If you're looking for something cheap and nice, go for them!

Original ones I have is 225-55-18 with Bridgstone summer tires.
For this winter I mounted 225-67-17 with Nokian winter tires. Rims are 17x7 and even there is difference, it is still in range of acceptable.

Now Outie look much more powerful. I'll try to make picture and post it next days.

with 7 inch rims, you should be able to go about 245 no problem but it may rub. i have 235 on my 16" 6.5" wide rims.

I've been digging and have settled on 235's on a 17" rim, but still un-decided. I'm moving to Hawaii in August and will be taking a road trip to Florida in March (I'm in Arkansas). Anyone know of other online tire/wheel site outside Tirerack and Discounttire?
