Tires
Hi guys,
Just bought myself a 2017 Outlander, 2.0 2WD
I want to take advantage of the lower price winter tires at the moment and have found a model that has excellent reviews but they have size what i need at 215/70/R16 but they also have a slightly more expensive SUV version of the tire. The SUV version doesnt seem to get same good reviews...
My question is do i need the SUV version or not?

What Claud said.
I did put "light truck" tires on once before. they felt heavy and did take a small hit to fuel economy. There was really no reason I needed them... I now run "eco" tires with low rolling resistance...generally passenger vehicle rated.

STICK WITH "CAR" TIRES for the outlander. It's lighter than the Outlander sport...... and gets better fuel economy. Go figure......
I use the stock wheels N tires for winter on my 16 model, but I've also got AWD. Makes a difference for sure. Summers I run 245 wide 19's with Dunlop SP Pro's. Yeah, that's kinda extreme for the Outlander, but I got the full set of Ebay for $345, lol, brand new take offs that still had the stickers on them. They ran $1400 on tire rack. My Best Ebay score ever. Ha ha.

Would the comments above explain why the Canadian Tire Store website tells me certain tires are incompatible for my 2009 Outlander even though the size, 215/70r15, is the same as what came with the vehicle? Is the site telling me only SUV tires compatible even though from comments above it would seem regular tires are Ok
