Default Tow hitch wiring

I am pretty sure there are a few Aussies on this site. Has anyone of you go the Mitsu wiring for the trailer hitch?

I called my dealer and it's not really listed as a seperate part apparantly, just as a "kit" with the towbar itself at the tune of $750 odd. After some probing the wiring was listed at about $370. Seems to be a hell of a lot more than the yanks are paying!!!

At this rate i'll buy one from the US and have it mailed over. Assuming it will suit the Outlanders here???? The bloke at the dealer said that the factory one unlike most aftermarket ones will disable the rear park assist. Hopefully the US one does the same.

Keen to hear ideas!!!

thx

Damo.

I bought the Mitsu wiring kit. It has the under-hood power connector (it's fun finding the mating plug), and the converter box and the harness from the convertoer box to the hitch. Was around $80.00 USD. Got it from one of the on-line OE parts suppliers.

Don't kow about the park-assist part as my US model does not have it.

Don't mess with the after-market. Pain in the butt.

Dealerfit.com

I left out 1 zero, it should have read $80.00.

I'm sorry for not proof reading better.

Also got the door scuff plates and the rear lift gate scuff plate.

Excellent service, great to deal with. Anything else I need, dealer parts wise, I will get from them.

Again, I'm sorry about the typo.
