Default TPMS how does it work?

I just changed over to my winter wheels /tires, and drove about two miles without any warning coming on. What gives? I was expecting to see a warning since the new wheels do not have sensors.

Default I got the warning message today

After driving for twenty minutes I got the service req. warning message. Cleared the warning, and twenty minutes later got it again. I guess the system is working, but twenty minutes for the first warning is long, I would think it should tell me right after start up. Thanks for looking.

Did you have the old TPMS inside your car for those first 20 minutes?

Default Nope

I left the stock wheels and tires in my garage. Last night on my drive home it gave me the warning when I started the outlander and that was it.
