...too bad, they always make such a mistake. Did they warn you before changing? I'd like to know how they compensate you...

The following is a quote from a thread by member N.G.S.

Hope it helps.

There is a solution to the tpms issue without having to take your car to the dealer or having to disable the tpms system by changing settings on your ecu.

I have programmed a bunch of sensors for folks on the evo forums and none have had any issues. You can read about the solution on this thread

A tpms solution proven to work - evolutionm.net

If anyone needs sensors programmed pm me. I do not charge for programming them. You could source them out and ship them to me for programming or i can source a set for you.

Pm me if you have any questions.
thanks a lot

I had a Firestone location break two of my sensors. I raised hell and they replaced the sensors for me. I did have to go to the dealership to have them programmed in, but Firestone re-imbursed use for that.

if that is not an option for you, then I suggest going with fiestataz' suggestion, but you'll need the old sensor to read the code to give to the other guy.

If assuming the replacement are two brand new Mitsubishi OEM TPMS (same model number as whatever original), do I still have to go to dealer for reprogramming?

Unfortunately only Mitsubishi dealers can program it. Mitsubishi refuse to release the ODB protocol to the aftermarket so even if you buy a TPMS programmer for it (like I did), it will not communicate with the on board computer. My dealer charges $99 to program it. I wouldn't fault the tire guy so much. The OEM TPMS valve stem starts to erode or rusts out at the threads after 4 years. I broke three of mine just by pushing an air hose on to it for inflation. It seems like the battery inside it last longer than the crappy value stem.

I can program a set of sensors that work 100%, I have done hundreds of sensors to date with zero issues. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

^^^^I can vouch for this guy. The new sensors work GREAT. Now that I have the OEM TPMS sensor #'s written down, I'll NEVER need to go to the stealership for overpriced sensors and programming

TPMS Sensors FS - Programmed for FREE - EvoXForums.com - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Forums

PM him here or on the evo x forum. I seriously doubt NTB has the alligator programmable sensors. last time I went they only had the EZ sensors. which for our car is not easy. you would need mitsubshi for the ez sensors.
