Once again, I don't see the electrical vehicle option.
The new outlander lost 300+ lbs in the GT AWD trim, I wonder what they took out?

$6,100 option add on, most expensive package I have ever seen, but you get quite a lot of stuff.

MMCS navigation system with 3D mapping, point-of-interest information and real-time traffic
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM)
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Power glass sunroof with one-touch tilt and slide
Leather seating surfaces (1st, 2nd and 3rd row)
710-watt Rockford Fosgate® premium sound system with 9 speakers including 10-inch dual-voice coil subwoofer with Punch® control, DTS Neural Surround™, PremiDIA WIDE® surround and Dolby® Volume
SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio with 3-months pre-paid service
Power driver's seat
Wood grain appearance door and instrument panel trim
Power remote tailgate

it is UGLYYYYY.

All the tech is cool, but MAN is that thing ugly.

I personally like the flap fold tail gate too. gone! Less HP for more MPG's for the GT. I'm glad I bought my 2012 GT when I did

Yesterday I went to my local dealership for some maintenance work and I got the pleasure to see the new 2014 Outlander. First of, the exterior actually does not look as bad as photos would suggest. I especially like the front design of headlights/bumper. It looks like a progression of 2007-2009 Outlander design. I think the car looks classy and kind of rugged all at the same time and compared to its metrosexual competition from Hyundai/Kia/Ford it actually is different enough in a good way to finds its own niche. The exterior design should age really well without any unnecessary bulges/creases or other tacky elements.

The interior design looks plain and kind of boring but material quality is a lot better than previous generation with soft touch plastics everywhere. The flap fold tail gate is gone so that's a negative. Also roof rails are gone which gave Outlanders a more rugged look I believe. The new Outlander looks like a decent vehicle but unless it drives like nothing in this world, it is not a ground breaking vehicle. But it does look purposeful and with standard seating for 7 I am more than sure it will sell decently.

I wonder if the MMCS firmware and maps are swappable with the old unit?

Mitsu has now made a website for this car

Introducing the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander / Mitsubishi Motors

and a TV commercial. I have never seen a Mitsu commercial before,
looks like they are really trying to do some marketing this time.

No. New maps are compressed, they take less space yet work somewhat slower.
