Welp, spoke to a service manager at my local dealership. They want almost $200 to pull the code again and open a case with Mitsubishi, but he mentioned they are the least likely company to approve a catalytic converter replacement even though it started to fail while in warranty. They don't even have any converters in stock. May just be my last Mitsu They should have fixed it right the first time while the converter was under warranty still...

Opened a case myself directly with Mitsubishi, 1-888-648-7820. Waiting for a case manager to review…

Spoke to the corporate case manager, repair denied. Such a fraud for it should have been fix the first time and not a "software update" and code clear while just under warranty still... At least I saved $200 by calling Mitsu myself. Likely my last Mitsu after this mess. Anyways, anyone know of a good aftermarket else I'll just keep an eye out for junker...?

After some additional back and forth, Mitsu agreed to replace the part, but the labor is falling on me... Probably looking at $380-$400 labor...but we'll see...

Ouch, so if I read it right. You have had to replace the Cat on the header manifold. So on my V6 I am possibly up for 2 cats (1 per cylinder bank) and then possibly the main cat as well. That will work out at major dollars as here in NZ the only choice is Genuine from Mitsi or import generics from overseas which will include extra freight costs.
