if you have DRLs they are 1156 bulbs, and if you have fog lights they are H11

DRL/1156

These are super bright, but they may not be suitable for DRL usage due to heat output:

Fog/H11

And these ones I am using as parking lights:

so, there are 1156 7 watt bulbs that are super bright from v-leds (280 lumens!), but I checked with the company and they said that they will not last if used more then 20 mins. They said they are developing new lights that would be as bright and won't overheat, so my hope it will be soon.

so you did not use LEDs on your DRL? I was planning to change mine to LEDs so it would be brighter since I could now turn my DRL lights on together with the HID headlights....

Problem with LED lights that the CAR heading your direction will be NOT able to see the small turn light.

I noticed that with car with LED light. The LED is too bright that you are likely to be pulled over for nothing.

DRL saves lives and especially if the person in front of you is a little blind. he/she will see your DRL and will avoid hitting you.

Cops has more respect with cars with DRL. You will rarely get pulled over for speeding.

trust me I speed a lot of times but never get pulled over except accidentally running a red light.

FAX68, your comments do not make sense at all!

"Problem with LED lights that the CAR heading your direction will be NOT able to see the small turn light. "

"The LED is too bright that you are likely to be pulled over for nothing."

This is just silly:
"Cops has more respect with cars with DRL. You will rarely get pulled over for speeding."

Bino,

As far LED brightness goes, 1156 DRL LED are not bright enough and I am getting rid of them and putting regular White 27 watt bulbs from PIAA. At this time do not bother with DRL LEDs.

that's the only option for now! I will probably revisit 1156 LED DRLs in about 6 month, hopefully they'll figure out how to make them bright without overheating.

after you intalled the PIAA 1156 bulb could you give me an idea on which is really brighter... the LEDs or the PIAA..... and also did the 1156 LEDs you have overheated? thanks
