Replace Hard drive
Hi all,
I ordered a new HDD with new map (2012-13) M210 with all other Mitsi software also on it from:-
mitsubinavi@gmail.com
It was much easier just to replace the HDD. I paid 70 euro last January

Hard drive is extremely easy to replace. Open the MMCS screen and you will see a plastic clip off strip (normally marked HDD), unclip.
The HDD is held in position by two very small screws, obviously unscrew these.
It will then just pull out.
Replace with new HDD but take care not to bend the pins......
All this MUST be done with the ignition OFF.....
I should add the guy will also just replace the Sat Nav programme if you send your HDD to him. This will have the benefit of retaining all your music you may have loaded etc. for around 45 euros.
However I did not want to do be without the system for that period.
The new HDD is also unlocked so you should be able to update yourself in future (not tried it yet though)

Can we put an SSD Hard Drive in the system? If so, what is actually stored on the STOCK HDD? also, if I put an SSD in, will it improve the speed overall of the entire MMCS system? or is the HDD only for music storage?
thanks, man.

I really do not understand your question.
SSD is storage card not Hard Drive.....
HDD (hard drive) used in the Mitsubishi is the same as used in laptop computers. This stores your music files, sat nav etc. Mitsubishi have "locked" the drive so you can not read it when you remove it without first unlocking their programme. This can be done but is extremely difficult. If you format the drive you will loose all programmes and all of the Mitsubishi data you currently have.

SSD and SD are totally different.
Anyway it is not that easy to find PATA SSD, all modern ones come with SATA interface.
On other hand, it took me less than a minute to find one:
Newegg.ca - Transcend TS64GPSD330 2.5" 64GB PATA MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
