hey guys well ithought seenas im doing a fair amount to her car il update this thread when i do stuff..

first on the list

installation of RES MMCS Unit.
Leather Facelift HOOD
Leather Facelift Glovebox top

RES MMCS unit was supplied with a sunroof model bracket and the availability of the none extinct,i was forced to weld up some tabs.
screen sits bout 25mm further forward wich isnt a bad thing.
and i am performing a total blackout interior(we did it on our VR4 Legnum Wagons and love it..

Totally dismantle the RES Unit completley
Scrub up the plastic and apply plasti pac, then apply black in dust coats..
its a pretty strong bond and no flaking (again done on our Legnums)

the roof lining and A,B,C/D pillars are getting upholstered in new black lining..
add a Euro Feel to the car with the fabric.

Looks good. Mighty nice to be able to fab up your own brackets like that.

xOutlanderFiendx 07-27-2012 08:30 PM

just wondering, is it difficult to strip down to the bare metal of the vehicle? I might eventually do this so I can add sound deadening material...

Gen-8 07-27-2012 08:33 PM

Thanx guys, yea welding is my trade so engineeringis sweet fir me lol..um tbh it is a nightmare to strip down. You'd think you can just remove abcd pillars but noooo. You have to remove front seats, remove lower abcd pillar covers then unbolt uppers then pull off then lower roof lining once removing all bits too, then getting it out without creasing it is tight too, need all the floor space you can get to turn on 45 and out.

Real nightmare

here goes the project of deadening the roof :-)

Gen-8 07-28-2012 04:29 PM

Hehehe, you'll find a fair chunk of deadening on your lining already if you have a non sunroof model, 2 pieces roughly 800mm square

Gen-8 07-28-2012 04:29 PM

What were you thinking of doing? The dyna mat or just more foam style?

firebirdrc 07-29-2012 01:03 AM

dynamat.

Wow, this is awesome, two thumbs up, well done, gen-8!!
Like all you've done for the project.

The bonnet struts looks perfect and straight forward, are they OEM Legnum? we don't have Legnum in the US, so this is equal to galand's tailgate struts???

Gen-8 08-01-2012 02:44 PM

Are they the station wagon ? Afaik you guys do not have the ec?W/ea?W correct?
Only Europe, Asia and Australia, and New Zealand..I have hundreds of these in stock

yea I am RHD
how much for the dash the same as your photo I want the leather dash like your one black and silver
how much for the seat cover leather I want the front for sure
i keep the back seat folded flat for work all the time but how much for the back cover in leather

xOutlanderFiendx 09-11-2012 03:34 PM

this is great! are these C.F. covers incl. the tweeter covers are a set from the same source from japan? what about the leather seat covers? NZ oem?
how's your website going now? still stuck?

Gen-8 09-16-2012 02:07 PM

These items are NZ made not jap, my mate does the cf dipping for me, many other types too.

The leather is original brand new USDM came with Mitsi warranty certificate etc..however I have another local source to me whom can make the interior anytime and also can make the 3rd row in leather too.
Website is comming along good afaik so not long.. I can't wait either trust me lol

Gen-8 01-01-2013 10:41 PM

Il have to update this thread it seems way behind lol

ckmecha 01-03-2013 10:12 AM

Those leather seat covers are really Mitsubishi? The fit seems terrible. I hoped they shrunk a little and gave you a better fit.

Gen-8 01-03-2013 01:55 PM

Yes they are.. I fitted them myself and they have settled in nicely now thank you

firebuck 01-03-2013 07:54 PM

Looking good. Keep up the excellent work.
