XLS without AUX input

XLS without AUX input
I saw on another forum someone talking about being able to splice into the wiring behind the center console to be able to access the aux function on the stereo (plug in mp3 players) on XLS models without NAV or Rockford-Fosgate upgrades. Has anyone here had any luck with this.

Hi drg2007, look under plastic cover in the central consol beetween anterior seats: you will found a prewired cable with audio and video (video only available if you have Nav).
Try that!.
I post picture soon.

For remove the cover you need only your fingers
Under you found the cable
remove this cable from false connector
and wire the aux input (you sould the audio female jack)
For corresponding wire colour you try... the black is ground or you ask rdenis for connections.
Bye

Thanks to the original poster... great free mod! And that little tray in the armrest is perfect for the mp3 player.
On that connector, there's 3 wires together, and 2 other wire together. The group of 3 has a blue/silver wire in the center. That's the ground. The two wires on either side of it are L/R... I just ran a test CD to see that I had them right.

RE: XLS without AUX input
Hi all,
Just a little question : when you have the Mitsubishi Multi Media System (GPS) installed, how do youselect the AUX input ?
I know that when you only have the basic 6 CD charger, you have to press CD 2 or 3 second and then, it switches on AUX but I don't know how it works with the MMCS GPS.
Any clue ?
Thanx
