Default 07 outlander oil reset issue

Hi guys, ive owned this xls since new in 07 and always performed oil changes at the dealer.. But today @60k miles i decided to do it at pepboys... After the oul change the periodic inspection message showed 1000 miles 26 months.. I guess they did the reset in a wrong way?? Please let me know the fix.

You can try this to reset it:

1) Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the button to the left of the display on the instrument panel twice within one second. The oil life status will be displayed on the panel and this should be past the mileage due for the service interval if the wrench icon is illuminated.

2) Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position within 10 seconds of the status display. Press and hold the button to the left of the display again with one hand while turning the ignition key back to the "ON" position without starting the engine. The oil life status will show once again.

3) Continue to hold down the button for a few seconds longer, and then release it. Wait 10 seconds until a chime indicates and displays miles for at least another 10 seconds. The oil life warning light has then been reset. Turn the ignition key to "OFF". Hope this helps.
