Hi new here. I want to put 4d56 in my 87 ram 50. Can anyone tell me if this can be done and if it will bolt to my tranny.4 SPD 4wd. Was reading 4m40 is better not sure of the figment of that one either. Any info would be great.

 

anything will fit if you have enough money and an engineer.

4m40 +turby is miles ahead of the 4d56.
4d56 good workhorse, but gutless.

 

Thanks was wondering about tranny hookup and what sort of mods would be needed.not wanting to change much but the engine.
