Idle is out of control

Idle is out of control
Hey all! Another newbie from IL.
Of course I joined because I'm trying to fix a problem.
Which is - that I can't control the idle on my gsx (1990 4g63NOT a turbo). Already replaced the ISC and had my computer rebuilt. The idle screw is turned all the way down and it still starts upat about 2800 rpm. I reajusted the throttle cable to make sure it is completely colosed.
Anyone else had this problem? Suggestions will be appreciated.

RE: Idle is out of control
I'm as curious as everyone else.
Ok, so you have a turbo car, with (let's focus on these items) a turbo ECU and a non-turbo motor. The thing to focus on here is the fuel maps from the two items and their differences. Now if you mean that you removed the turbo and are just running the turbo motor in non-turbo form, then that's different; but that's not what we are all reading, so if you would, clarify that for us.
With what your telling us, in a normal setup, you would be having air leak problems after the throttle plate or even with the plate itself. Then there's the FIAV.
What was the last thing done to your car that could be causing this issue? Did you swap a non-turbo motor in and then this happened?

RE: Idle is out of control
Silvercoup97, dsm1990gsxand everyone.
From what I have been able to find out, Mitsubishi built these non-turbo GSX models for about six months between 1990 -91. It never had a turbo, but has a lot of the same systems. It's rare andsort ofa prototypefor theVR4 - without the turbo or leather seats. But very expensive and quick when it wasnew (and when I got it).
I am suspecting an air leak from maybe a worn throttle plate. (I found instructions on the site for fixing the throttle plate shaft seals.)
Also, my next session in the garage, I'm going to check the Closed Idle position switch (adjust & ck continuity). Ineed to alsolook atthe connector to it as it may need to be re-soldered.
Anything else I should be looking at as a prime suspect?
