Default new! and confused...

ok so im new to this site but not to the mitsubishi name... i know alot about the eclipse and am really looking into getting one as my first car (2000-2005 model)
im kinda confused because i keep seeing lots of bad and alot of good reviews on this car... i mean im not gonna race it or anything i just love the car... and i want to know what you guys think...

because im really torn between the eclipse and the honda prelude and civic...

should i go with the reviews and avoid buying an eclipse?
are these people having problems because there not taking care of the car?
when i go to look at and purchace my eclipse what should i look for? (problems... ect)

The 1990-1999 ones are the problematic years.

2000-2005 is just fine.

Miles really aren't an issue in terms of mechanical reliability in the 2000-2005 3rd gens. Of course that does not mean a car with 250k is the same as a car with 25k, but you get the idea.

do you know what model you would be looking at (such as the RS, GS, GT, GTS) if you dont know what each is, please do a search. But based on your choice will determine what things to look for. But as a general rule they are pretty reliable cars
