Default New to the forum with some questions

Hey im a new member. i just recently bought a 96 eclipse rs. I know very little about suping up cars but have no problem working on them. i just recently had to replace the radiator support due to rot. The previous owner beat on it a lot so i am looking to replace the motor ant tranny. and possibly turbo it as well. So if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I will help you out very honestly.

Please know i am not speaking by matter of opinion.. im speaking fact when i say that the RS/GS CAN NOT and WILL NOT be fast.

If you want a fast car.. then sell it and get a 1g or 2g GSX.

There is very little you can do to make the car faster. Intake, exhaust (about $1000 not including labour) and i kid you not.. another member on a different site did ALL the bolt ons for that engine.. and got........... 4 extra hp LOL. Thats a joke.

But if you dont want a fast car.. then sure spend the money on the intake and exhaust... just dont expect anything but a little extra noise lol.

Welcome to the site by the way!

trust Sebba... with every bolt on and a fulllllllly built engine the most you will get of that motor on race gas would prolly be about 200chp. and i'm taking abotu B U I L T!! fully built had, port and polish, over sized valves, 5angle valve job, cams, intake manifol, oversized throttlebody, cold air intake, exhaust, 12.5:1 compression pistons, knifedged crank, aluminum flywheel... i mean proly close to 5k worth of engine work just to get it to 200CRANK hp. when you can get a GSX or GS-T for about 6-8k.
