Default New Outlander owner!

Hey all......I'm from NL, Canada and recently picked up a 2012 Outlander XLS-SAWC in rally red. Love the rig and glad I stumbled upon this site. Lots of great info here!

Hello and congratulations on your new purchase. I did buy a 2012 Outlander LS V6 AWC a week ago too. Here is the thing though- when you start yor vehicle and let it warm up somewhat, do you feel the transmission kicking when you accelarate, or slumping when you come to a sudden stop? I used to own two Hyundais in the past and they both did the same thing. However, they had more than 150K, and were '95 models, and my Outlander has got 30K and is 2012. I hope it's some factory deffect, or a normal thing, because I am very disappointed.

hey.....I think I know what you're talking about. Mine will make a knocking sound every now and then when I start it, and also a similar sound sometimes when letting go of the gas. I was concerned about it as well had had it checked out when I brought it in for the oil change. The guy at the dealer knew what I was talking about on the phone and he said its normal if its what he thinks it was. It turns out that knocking noise when starting, is the ABS system doing it's own tests of itself. They also said the noise every now and then while driving was when it automatically switches to neutral for better fuel economy when you release the gas peddle. They said it's perfectly normal, and nothing to worry about. Hopefully its the same issue you're having
