New from Romania
Greetings from sunny Bucharest (despite the time of the year, outside are 14 degrees centigrades)!
Since I've decided to get rid off my old rides I have just ordered a 2.0i 16v Lancer (well known to you as Ralliart) so here I am joining you guys. About myself, I'm 33 (almost) and I'm an inssurance broker. About my rides, I own a Renault 21 TXi ( 2.0i 12v, 99 KW) and a Rover 220 GTi (2.0i, 16v, 103 KW). That's it for the moment. Drive safe! |
RE: New from Romania
Welcome to MF, Marty! It's great to see folks from across the water...and then some.
Your other vehicle trims are unfamiliar to me but the brands aren't. Again, welcome and hope you enjoy your time here. |
RE: New from Romania
Thanks for the worm welcome, John!
Few data about "the rides": Renault 21 TXi , 16 years of age, 1995 cmc, 12 valves, 136 HP, 175 Nm, 0-60 MPH: 9.2 s Rover 220 GTi , 10 years of age, 1998 cmc, 16 valves, 140 HP, 180 Nm, 0-60 MPH: 9.0 s I'm very sorry but I really don't have any picture with my Rover so I found one on the internet and post it for info. |

I used to own this piece of poop...
A tan Renault Alliance 2dr. http://www.arcticboy.com/media/renault/alliance85.gif It got me to school/work and the A/C worked, lol. The Rover looks like the Ford Escort (granted it must be a Ford/Rover collaboration, before the buy out). Does it really have a Honda twincam motor in it? Looks pretty neat though. I love European cars, lol. |
RE: New from Romania
No, the engine is a genuine Rover and the chassy is from Honda Concerto .
In the company I used to work before, one of my collegues had a Rover 620i and that car has a 2.0i Honda engine under the bonnet About your Medallion, I assume you had the 2.2 lietr engine. That's one of the most reliable engine (except japs) I've ever seen. It runs at least 300.000 miles without major repairs. Ofcourse, the problem with that car is not the engine but everything else. :D |
RE: New from Romania
I don't even remember anything about the motor but that it was tiny, compared to the tiny car, lol. I do agree about the "everything else" comment. It was a rust bucket, the interior was falling apart, the headliner was dropping onto my head, so I just yanked it off, the carpet was no longer a carpet but it turned into a mat, and the panels were about to fall off. I got rid of it because the the head gasket blew and I moved on, lol.
