Oil pump and crankshaft problem

Hello, I own a 2010 outlander 3.0 and I took it to get an oil change today since yesterday after coming off the freeway I got a low oil pressure message on the dashboard. I told this to my mechanic who said he's previously seen issues with this engine due to clogged oil pump and crankshaft due to silicone residue. He said this may be the problem since he heard a clicking noise when starting the outlander, but got no error messages upon scanning or on the dashboard. I wanted to know how likely this can be and if anyone who's had this problem before had the same symptoms I had. Thanks everyone.

How is your oil level? Its not uncommon for these engines to burn oil due to valve stem oil seals leaking, and when oil gets low you will get the light.

My mechanic didn't mention anything about the oil level when I took it for the change and the last time I checked it was in the "OK" zone, wasn't too low. With today's oil change I drove about 20km and got no low oil pressure message.
