Are we going to play 20 questions ?
How fast are you traveling?
How big are the bumps?
If you go over a bump that makes the noise, if you go over the same bump while turning the wheel, does it still make the noise?
How many miles are on the vehicle?
Did this noise start after someone worked on it?
How is the strut bearing plate, any wear?
Are the struts okay and not leaking?
Are the front end bushing all in place and none are missing?
Is all the brake hardware still in place, the pad retainers?
Does your vehicle have "anti rattle" springs on the brakes?
Is the disk pad, that is on the caliper piston side, still attached to the piston cup?
Is the exhaust system securely fastened?
Did any of the heat shields come loose?
How are the ball joints? (if they are this loose to make noise, don't drive the car!)
How about the tie rod ends?
Ok, 15 questions

Any more hints?

Bolts that hold the strut bearing plate are loose?
Broken strut spring?
Bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle or to the strut bearing plate are loose?
Sway bar mounting is loose?

You say "metallic noise" but what kind of metallic noise? Is it a rattling, grinding, ect?
