4g63 turbo galant

Ok,so,before I go and waste my hard earned cash, let me run this by ya'll.Ok,I'm wanting a 4g63 motor, which came non turbo. It's a 2.0.I found a turbo, reasonably priced for a dohc 2.0 which was what the turbo came off of.So,my question is will this work,or is it a waste of time.I'm wanting power out of this galant, but within reason.Just want the extra boost when I want it.Not trying to build a 10 sec car or nothing.Any thoughts?

Ya im confused by your first post.. The Galant VR-4's came with that motor, but they were turboed... And you want to swap that motor in a new galant?

No,the Galant I have now,has a 4g64 in it(95).So Dusty says.So,I went and found a non turbo,4g63.I also found a turbo off the same engine model.So,slap on the turbo to the 63 add proper equipment,throw it all in the galant.Keep in mind,this is all new to me.I'm a car guy.just not imports.So,any,and I stress any,knowledge,that's accurate.Will be extremely appreciated.So,does that sound ok.If I had a vr-4 I'd leave it be.Stupid or not?If so,point me in the right direction.This 4g64 is smokin bad!

I have a spyder with the same engine you can put a 4g63 head on the 4g64 therefore makin a 2.4L 4g63/64 The engines are almost the same but do have there differences. Swap the head go from there.....Depending on how much psi...you might want to get internals. On slowboyracing.com you can get pistons specifically for this project. When you swap the head you need parts go here 4g64.com theres a lot of people with your galant there. Your motor is good! The 2.4L 4g63/64 with an BE316g turbo will create very good power and TORQUE! When looking on slowboyracing.com you can just shop in the eclipse section once you swap the head because most the parts will bolt on.... but do research because I don't own a galant so I cant say everythings the same as the spyder so go to the 4g64.com site. With a turbo you need to upgrade your fuel inj...clutch and few other things, youll be good.

As far as smokin domestics....My car keeps up with these V6 models of these cars ill lose by 1 car but I only have a cat-back. With these upgrades youll be able to keep up and/or beat the v8's. My friend has a V8 mustang and in my spyder i take him off the line but he catches up all the time but with a turbo!!!!!!!damn it would just smoke em.
