Default BOV return hose

.........This is for a 2gen eclipse with a 1gen bolw-off valve.............
I have read that taking the BOV return hose off of the BOV would cause idle, and stalling problems. Is there any way around this, and does it happen with aftermarket setups??

It happens because of the stock Mass Air Sensor. Without recirc. that air the engine will run really rich because it thinks it has more air then it is actually getting. The only way to truely vent is with a standalone, or a translator. But i dont suggest going with atrans because ive heard they can be a nightmare to tune with. My suggestion is to just recirc.

I am currently venting to the atmosphere and havent had a problem. On the other hand when I removed my "honey combs" from the MAS it indeed did make my idle alot rougher and some times cause stalling.

Your not suposed to remove it on the 2gs!

If you have not noticed a performance difference when you are venting...... then you are not performance oriented

The main reason I vent is so I dont recirc. the hot air back into my intake. From my experience I havent noticed a difference.

Reguardless the intercooler you have the air isnt going to be freezing cold... Its still going to be hot.

It would be cooler.. It would be like getting whatever the air temp is when your driving..

i put a tube on it after i got my car, and it felt more smooth when idling in the heat of summer. but they do got a point in that it's bad for your car to vent it if you have stock boost. and with a 1g BOV it's not made to vent in the first place so i would advise not doing it. sebba is right, the air will be colder not by much with the stock intercooler but it will be colder than the air outside the car with driving, idling i think it will stay the same as the air outside.
