2008 Challenger Vs Evo?
My older brother is Going to buy a Dodge Challenger 6.1L Hemi 6 Speed in 2008 when it is released. We were having a debate as to wether or not i would beat him in a 1/4 mile with my talon Whe i brought up the fact that stock for stock my money would be on an Evo IX against his car. He was arguing that he would be better in the quarter mile cause the evo wouldnt have enough top end power. Obviosly the Evo would beat him off the line but how would it do in an actual race? Here is some Challenger info i coppied and pasted
http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html The Hemi has 425 hp, 420 lb-ft of torque, and a six-speed manual transmission. With its 4,100 pound weight, it can do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds (with 20 inch wheels on front and 21 inch wheels on back), and runs the quarter mile in 13 seconds flat; top speed is 174 mph (limited by wind resistance), while gas mileage is estimated at 14 city, 20 highway, very good compared with the original Challenger and roughly the same as today’s smallest, most underpowered Hummer. Brakes are more effective than the original - stopping from 60 mph can be done in 133 feet. Also if anybody would like to give an opinion as to how i would fair against him in my talon Currently: 1995 Eagle talon Tsi AWD 17psi Extreme psi polished intake Greddy rs BOV Greddy IC pipes Full 3" turbo back exhaust with 3" cat If i can get my self to stop being scared of crankwalk by 2008 it will have Evo III 16g Injectors fuel pump SAFCII wideband o2 |

I know the Evo would win in handling and braking but I'm not sure about 0-60 and quarter mile. The Challenger has pretty good numbers. I believe the Evo IX would need some mods to beat him. Much of this race would be based on the driver. Let's remember 0-60 and quarter mile times though. When the Challenger comes out we'll see what the "official times" are.

It'll be a good race, no doubt there. In a 1/4 drag with the mods you've listed for your car, it's going to be pretty close, whoever has the best RT will take it.

RE: 2008 Challenger Vs Evo?
Im thinking that if i launch it with the AWD i should have a decent chance. My only worry is the 2nd half cause of his 400+ hp
