2008 Lancer GTS
I came soooo close to buying a 2008 Lancer GTS today.
2.0ltr MIVEC, 5spd manual, 18"s wrapped in 215/45/18 Dunlop SP5000 tires, Rockford Fosgate sound system that beats like oh my god, Bluetooth hands free phone operation, Nav. system w/ 30gb hard drive, 8 way power drivers seat, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, black cloth interior, power windows/locks/mirrors, and a few other nice things.
Color = electric Blue pearl
Price = $19,115 + TT&L
The only thing that stopped me was
A.) The trade in value of my lame *** dsm.
B.) The availability of the Evo X.
I gotta say though, after driving a 2008 GTS w/ the 5spd, the new Lancer is the best Mitsubishi product in YEARS.
The car feels solid. The way a car should. The doors have solid steel "plumbing" that can withstand an impact of 60mph before crumbling. The windshield and windows are made of bulletproof glass material to prevent chipping from rocks, etc.
Has 7 airbags total, 5 for driver/passenger, and 2 for the rear passengers.
The clutch felt amazing.
The 2.0 MIVEC runs soooooo smooth and quiet.
The nav system/30gb hard drive was a breeze to figure out and operate.
The driver controls on the wheel were located in very comfortable spots.
And the driver menu in the gauges was a breeze to operate.
The only thing I was not fond of, was the digital temp and fuel gauges.
Could do without those. Rather have a needle.

RE: 2008 Lancer GTS
I'm gonna pay on my car until nov. then sell it outright to some bumbling idiot who wants a low mileage car for his daughter, lol.
Then buy either the GTS or an EVO.
Depends on how my $$$$ situation is.

RE: 2008 Lancer GTS
I want the new X.
Insurance on the GTS is cheaper than my dsm, b/c of all the safety features and its a sedan.
I dont waana know evo insurance.
I gotta get past this court case and surgery before I can do anything for sure.

Anything would feel good compared to an RS
I actually drove through the lot today and saw I could lease 1 for 239 a month.. I actually like the looks of the lancer now...
