Default challenging a ticket???

sooo...yea. got hit with a $88 dollar ticket while heading down I-4 this morning. another for not having registration on me but that i can take care of. I was clocked at 90 in the 70 but he only cited me as doing 79. still dont want to pay it or take the traffic school again so im thinkin about fighting it. i just have two questions:
1. do cops show up for trials on tickets while on the clock or on their own time?
2. if the ticket is dismissed is it still part of their quota?

just wondering what my chances are of the guy not showing up....

The cop cuts you a break and you still want too fight it? What's the point? At 9 over, it shouldn't go on your record (as far as the insurance company is concerned).

the $88 isnt what gets me, its the points and he did say something about still having points. im 18 and my insurance is already through the roof withme "not being an experienced driver" and owning a two door "sports" car

dont fight it man, the way people get cut breaks is by being polite

thats how i got him to lower the charge bro....but politeness doesnt get rid of points, 4 hours on the computer learning about traffic laws does. id like to avoid that

Here is a novel idea...slow down...

Your options are, either pay the ticket, hire a lawyer and get the charges lowered to a non-moving violation, or take the class so points don't get put on your record.

Cops dont usually show up.. But sometimes they will.. At best without a lawyer you can get the price of the ticket droped down.. But I dont think you can do much about the points..
