FWD VS. RWD CARS

Hey guys-

I was just wondering how bad are fwd cars vs. rwd? For instance if you take a gst and make it 300 hp at the crank would it be a drivers race if it raced a stock 1990- 96 nissan 300zx twin turbo which is 300 hp crank stock? I have a couple friends that are trying to have a race this summer, but i was telling my friend with the gst that he may need just a little more hp do to him being fwd. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

i think FWD cars are more prone to spinning than rwd cars...also take into consideration weight to power ratio and overall driver ability

P.S. i could have that FWD more prone to spinngin problem wrong but thats my expierences

there are a lot of factors other than just HP. weight, suspension, wheels, tires, driver, transmission, auto/stick etc etc etc. but a 300hp (otherwise stock) GST vs a 300hp (otherwise stock) 300zx, i would say that the nisan would have a slight advantage b/c of the weight difference. I thinkthe 300zx's are in the neighborhood of 2800-3000 and i believe the gst's are 3400 or so.
