how color blind are you?

RE: how color blind are you?
I always get the question "How do you know if you have to stop for a stop light or not?"...I tell them I just guess and hope I'm right. I'm color blind, not an idiot...and the red and green on the stop light are very distinguished, likely due to the fact that the majority of people affected are red/green colorblind.

So basically red is green and green is red? .... or would your red be like our purple and your green be our orange? .. something freaky like that... "Colorblind" always confuses me.
And have you always been colorblind? .... if so, that means you don't really know what "red" and "green" are suppose to look like, correct?

RE: how color blind are you?
I have always had difficulty discerning colors but never knew why, it was frustrating. Basically what happens is I cannot discern the shades of color. I can see the basic color wheel okay, but anything beyond that I cannot confidently tell you what color it is. I even had the "falant lantern" test done that I think failed also, that is a little LED on a machine about ten feet away and you need to identify either red, green, or white( I think, it was about 9 years ago). Some of the colors I see I just cannot break it down and call it a specific color. I used to think that I was just not taught my colors well enough. It can be frustrating and the most common reaction is like I have some sort of freaky disease.
