Story behind this car: 1994 Mitsubishi mirage sedan, 1.5L, auto, lhd, junk. Got it for 400 bucks and got a body kit, stereo, alarm, tint, over haul on the 1.5 and auto trans. So after some time of being slow and ghetto i did my research and found that the evo 1-3 share the chassis of the mirage (some what) so i went ahead and got myself a front clip and had at it. what came out of this was a Mirage powered by an Evo 1 4G63, all wheel drive and right hand drive car. i did the whole conversion by myself with very little experience ( i was 18) and the help of good friends. So to make the story short when i posted last time it was unpainted and what not. I took a month and did the paint job all by myself only 2 months after having back surgery! so here are the new pictures. This is a completely diy (do it yourself) evo and i love being able to say i built it from the ground up.
in the beginning:
to the front clip:
to the car:
rear end for the awd
skip forward a few months
to this
to the garage body shop ( my garage haha)
to the finished product:
so that is about 3 years of work so far, i got the car when i was 17, did the swap when i was 18 and ive had it running since then and i am now 20. The swap is 2 years now no serious problems. No shop has every touched this car and never will haha. This was all done by some one who has no prior mechanical or automotive experience what-so-ever, not to mention i have never painted or taken any class for it haha I'm actually a junior in a biology pre med major! so yea thats my little experiment and its turned out great. It's not just pretty, its relatively fast as far as mods go it has:
Act 2600, xact flywheel
TRE welded center diff, VCE
Injen intake
3" cat back, 2 1/2 custom made (me) test pipe, stock down pipe
stock 16g 10psi to 20psi
msd high flow inline, 10 gallon summit fuel cell
evo suspension, brakes, interior, front/rear rigid strut bars, evo front/rear sway bars
theres more to list but you get the idea! The stock weight of the mirage is 2300lbs, so this one is right around 2500-2600lbs. Evo 1 4G63 puts out about 250 i do believe and with the mods i have it should be around 300 or more.[/align]
